Second contract offer for Calvo

The Basque-born midfielder turned down the club's first one year offer as he wants more security for his family, and said that he would be prepared to move elsewhere for a longer deal.

There would be no shortage of club's willing to offer the 1999 playoff hero a contract.

When news of this broke officials at Glanford Park received a large amount of criticism, and the club have since offfered him an improved deal.

“Alex Calvo-Garcia is a well respected, well liked member of our squad and we definitely want to keep him at Glanford Park," Iron manager Brian Laws told the club's official website.
