Out for 8-12 weeks
Ginge suffered the break in the 82nd minute of Tuesday night's 4-1 LDV Vans defeat at Huddersfield.

He had to be replaced by Brian Quailey, despite only coming on as a substitute himself after 71 minutes.

The break follows broken legs suffered by Nigel Pepper and Peter Morrison last season, with Alex Calvo-Garcia suffering a break the season before.

"Gareth had an x-ray yesterday morning and that revealed that the leg was actually broken," Laws told the Scunthorpe Eveniing Telegraph.

"It's a massive blow for us and it means he will be out of action for around eight to 12 weeks.

"He doesn't need an operation at the moment but we will have to see how things progress.

Mark Jackson, Scott Brough and Nathan Stanton all picked up injuries in the same match, with Jackson suffering a broken nose.

All three players are now doubtful for Saturday's visit of second division high-flyers Brentford in the FA Cup Second Round.
