Shrews: Money not Asa motivation

The 24-year-old Ghana-born forward was ready to sign a 12-month contract at Glanford Park on Thursday, but opted to join Salop instead after a last-minute offer from the Shrewsbury side.

Iron manager Brian Laws said it as because the Shrews offered him a higher wage, but Peters claims

He said: "Derek Asamoah is at this football club not because we paid more money than Scunthorpe but because Ben Davies, Stewart Drummond, Richard Hope and Chris Mackenzie know him, he's spoken to them and they've bigged the club up.

'We've got something at the football club now which hasn't been here for a long time, for me I find it easy to sign players.

'We bring them down and show them all the things that are going on. We show them the training ground, the New Meadow, the facilities there, Sundorne Sports Village and Telford Dome - so training wise they see all the facilities we use."
