The veteran target man has recently returned from a four month injury lay-off and is looking forward to taking on a club where he spent three years between 1997 and 2000.

"I've only been back for a few weeks after injuring a hamstring in August, but obviously I would love to play against City," he told the Robins' official site.

"I have some very happy memories of that promotion season under John Ward and had really good times at Ashton Gate."

Meanwhile Torpey is confident that United are more than capable of surviving in League One this season. The Iron are five unbeaten in the league but have now drawn four on the spin and have been unable to turn convincing performances into wins in recent weeks.

"We made a really good start after winning promotion last season, but have just fallen off the pace in the last couple of months," he added.

"We have a decent sized squad and I'm sure we can at least survive in this League, if we can return to form it is not beyond us to challenge for the play-offs."
