Torpey out for season

The club had hoped that the dead leg he received against Exeter would quickly heal, but became concerned with the slow recovery.

Rumours on the terrace were that he had a muscle tear - although when we asked the club about this they declined to comment.

After a scan late last week it was revealed that the rumours were correct and that Torps will not play again this season.

Iron manager Brian Laws told the official site: "It is what we feared most.

"We thought the injury would clear up, we looked on the video and it was (an) innocuous challenge but the scan revealed he has a tear on his thigh muscle. The specialist has indicated he will be lucky to play again this season."

Laws said that he would like to bring in cover for him, but that he will probably have to make do with the players already at the club,
