Torps in fresh injury scare

Torpey suffered a dead leg during last week's 1-0 League One win over Cheltenham Town, but the problem may be more serious than first thought.

"He has a problem in the area of the thigh where he had a slight tear two or three years ago," manager Brian Laws told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.

"He has had a scan and we are awaiting the result."

Torpey had just won his place back in the starting XI after beginning the season as understudy to Billy Sharp and Andy Keogh.

But his return to duty lasted just two games, with him missing the Carling Cup visit of Aston Villa and not travelling to Bournemouth for Saturday's league clash.
