After seeing a specialist it is still unknown whether the 35-year-old has torn his hamstring but the injury isn't as bad as first feared.

"That is good news for us as I thought I might lose him for the rest of the season," Laws told the Iron's official website.

"The fact that it is not as bad as first is pleasing for us because it looked very serious."

If the exploratory operation establishes a tear of the hamstring Torpey will be instantly out for three months.

If the hamstring is not torn, he will be only out for two months.
