Trio to return for cup final

Could play tonight
Spaz hasn't featured yet in any of the pre-season games after picking up a knee injury training in Northern Ireland.

Assistant-manager Russ Wilcox however feels that the young midfielder could be fit enough to face the Welsh side when they make the lengthy trip across to Glanford Park on August 10th - and he could even feature in tonight's game.

"He is back in full training this week and he will play some part in (the) game at Grantham, though I am not sure he will start," Wilcox told the Scunthorpe Evening Telegraph.

"Matt is one of the fittest lads at this club and though he has not had much pre-season action, I would not rule him out of our opening game of the season at home to Wrexham a week on Saturday."

Defenders Stanton and Cotterill both picked up knocks in the `prestige` visits of Coventry City and Grimsby Town but are expected to feature tonight.

Wilcox will again take charge of the side as Brian Laws is `on holiday` and is likely to field a largely reserve team.

The match is for the 2001-02 Lincolnshire Senior Cup, it was held over from last season due to fixture congestion.

Should United win the trophy, again, they will start their defence in eleven days time by sending a reserve squad to meet Gainsbrough Trinity.
