Full-back Stephen Wright has signed on a non-contract basis after featuring for the reserves in their midweek victory over Mansfield Town.

He began his career with Aberdeen before teaming in with Rangers, moving onto Bradford City (where he played alongside Beags) and Dundee United.

The 31-year old was released by Dundee United in the summer, and after a summer spent looking for new employers has a respite as he teams up with his former teammate Peter Beagrie.

Speaking after the reserve game Iron assistant manager Russ Wilcox hinted that Wright may be used as cover when Nathan Stanton serves his suspension ater being sent off on Saturday against Bristol Rovers.

Meanwhile United have brought in yet another forward, with Middlesbrough youngster Craig Dove brought in on loan according to reports.

Dove impressed in the reserves alongside Leon Ryan, whom he played alongside Middlesbrough's youth setup.

Any chance of a deal being made permament for the player seems unlikley though, as he is highly regarded at the Riverside Stadium.
