We must bounce back on Sunday

United created several chances to open the scoring, notably in the first half, but conceded in the 66th minute and were unable to overturn the defecit.

The result means that the club have now lost two successive league games, having previously enjoyed a 14 match unbeaten run in all competitions.

Laws said: "This was a game where we had enough chances to have won, not only have we not scored but we've missed some great opportunities.

"In derby games like this you really do have to put those away or you'll come away with nothing like we have done today.

"Doncaster were under pressure as leaders of the league and we should have had all three points.

"The only thing that disappointed me was the manner in which we conceded the winning goal and the final scoreline.

"After two successive defeats in the league it's important we bounce back on Sunday against Boston because we don't want to lose touch with the leading pack."
