Woolford, who left Scunthorpe for an undisclosed fee in January 2011, has signed a two and a half year deal with the Lions.
It is unclear as to whether the Iron will receive anything from the transfer, but it has been rumoured the club had a small sell on clause, believed to be 15% of any profit, in the deal that saw him move to Ashton Gate.
