Worthy Cup roundup - Robins shock Norwich

R&D go through
Hull, Lincoln and Grimsby all crashed out of the tournament tonight - and it would take a remarkable achievement for the Iron not to join them after travelling to first division Preston North End tomorrow.

The mudrats hosted Leicester City, with the score 1-1 after 90 minuted to take the tie into extra time.

Once into the extra play though the floodgates opened, starting with Paul Dickov scoring in the first minute. The Foxes had racked up a 4-1 lead by end of the first half of extra time, and although Hull pulled one back two minutes from time those three goals ensured the result.

Extra time was also called for at Blundell Park, and again a goal in the first minute of the extra play settled the result. Second division Chesterfield going through at the expense of the Cod'eads - no victories at Anfield for them this season.

Lincoln City returned to losing ways with a 3-1 defeat at home to Stockport County.

The biggest shock of the night came courtesy of Cheltenham Town, who pulled off a tremendous 3-0 win over first division Norwich City. And this at Carrow Road.

Fellow third division outfit Wrexham also recorded a fine win over first division opposition, as Bradford City crashed out despite taking an 83rd minute lead through Danny Cadamarteri. However andy Morrell equalised in the 89th minute for the Welsh side, and Carlos Edward secured a last-gasp winner in stoppage time.

Rushden And Diamonds knocked Millwall out, though only thanks to the lottery of a penalty shootout, while Cambridge also desposed of first division newboys Reading.
