York still want McBreen

The Australian striker netted twice in five appearances for the Minstermen earlier this season, but was recalled by Nigel Adkins when Ben May's loan spell from Millwall was cut short.

But with Adkins bringing in young forward Ameobi from Leeds, McEwan hopes to move for former Falkirk man McBreen.

"I haven't spoken to him or contacted Scunthorpe as he only went back a fortnight ago, but we are keeping tabs on his situation," McEwan told The Press.

"I'd like to think he might come back, we need another striker."
