The highly committed Irishman joined the Iron for a brief loan deal from Sunderland in the 2002/03 season, and then signed permanently in the summer of 2003.He originally signed as a center back, however has been converted to a right back by United. Cliff always gives 100% and tries to get the ball down and play football. He has featured for the Irish U21 side, and has had trials with Hearts, Celtic and Blackburn. He was a player that United fans thought may struggle in the Championship, but has so far excelled as one of United's star performers this term. |
