He will be banned until May 31, meaning his season is over once the suspension comes into effect on January 27. He is currently serving a three-match ban after being red carded against Aldershot on New Year's Day.
Rovers chairman Trevor Horsley said: "Any decision on his future at Forest Green Rovers will be made either after this period, or after his appeal is heard.
"In the meantime, he remains a member of our playing squad and will continue to train with us as normal."
