The ex-Scotland centre-half wants to strengthen a side who struggled for most of the last campaign, eventually finishing 16th.

"We have released several players this season and we are going to be looking at bringing in several players," said the former Iron managerial target.

"There's not been much movement as of yet but I am keeping my fingers crossed and I'll be standing by the phone waiting for answers."

Hendry has released a number of fringe players to make room for new faces.

Out have gone Martin Bullock, Steven Boyack, Paul Edwards, Zarko Grabovac and Rob Clare.
