Marcus Browning's own goal just before half-time gave Gillingham a 1-0 win
over Bournemouth at the Priestfield Stadium.

Freddy Eastwood went from hero to villain in Southend's 1-1 draw with Huddersfield at Roots Hall, scoring the opener but then being sent off for
violent conduct. Pawel Abbott had levelled for the visitors.

Rotherham took a late lead through striker Deon Burton against Bradford, but Dean Windass levelled within three minutes remaining to ensure a 1-1 draw at Millmoor.

The game of the day came at Ashton Gate, where Bristol City got off the mark in spectacular style - seeing off Port Vale 4-2.
