Talks are ongoing with three different parties looking to takeover the club, and in a bid to speed up the discussions the duo have stepped down.
A club statement said: "In the interim period the new chairman, Mr Albert Doweck, will take over with immediate effect.
"Mr Doweck is a former director and chairman of Carlisle United Football Club.
"His buisness background comes from 50 years in the textile industry in the Manchester area and has been based in the Bury area previously."
