Ridsdale told the Western Mail: "I you analyse MacLean's goal-scoring record over the years, you will note that it's very good.
"The two players were each offered the opportunity to remain with their respective clubs, as well as being wanted by others.
"But we have persuaded them to come to Cardiff and we are delighted about that."
