Gillingham boss Cooper resigns

Cooper has spent just five months in charge of the Kent side, taking control after relegation from the Championship was confirmed last season.

But he has been unable to halt the slide this term, with the Gills in the midst of a second-successive relegation battle.

Assistant boss Ronnie Jepson has taken charge of the first-team on a caretaker basis.
