A second-half brace from Mark Bentley earned the Shrimpers all three points, leaving the Kent side lodged firmly in the relegation zone.

Flynn said: "The players have got to take responsibility for the second-half, we were lacklustre and it's not good enough.

"There was some harsh words said by the manager, and you have to agree with them. The players have got to take the blame for the result as individuals and as a team we've got to cut out the sloppy mistakes.

"The whole team has got to switch on and be nastier at home - it's our ground and we've got to put fear into the teams who come here."
