Huddersfield miss out on Hayter

Hayter is out-of-contract in the summer and has been told he will be sold this month rather than leave for nothing in the close season.

The Terriers made an informal approach, but the player ruled out a move to Yorkshire.

Cherries chairman Peter Phillips told the Bournemouth Evening Echo: "There was no bid accepted for James. I can confirm that we received an informal approach from Huddersfield.

"We didn't receive a bid, so were not able to accept or reject it. I spoke to James about it and he indicated that he wasn't interested in a move to that particular club."

Southampton, QPR, Barnsley and Bristol City have all been linked with the player, who has scored 13 times this season.
