Hull and Darlington take advantage

With a number of Third Divison teams competing in the Second Round of the FA Cup only two league games took place.

Darlington threw away two points against United last week thanks to their own indiscipline, but there were no such problems this week with goals from Barry Conlon, Neil Wainwright and Craig James sealing a 3-0 over York City.

The three points moved the Quakers out of the relegation zone, at the expense of Southend United, and further increased the problems for bottom club Carlisle United who are now 15 points from safety.

North Bankers Hull City earned three points with a 2-0 win over Bury which moved them up to second in the table, above Doncaster Rovers on goal difference.

Their goals came from Jason Price and Ben Burgess.
