Oldham swoop for Swailes

The 34-year-old, who spent the last four seasons at Millmoor, knows Latics boss Ronnie Moore very well from his time there and believes he can guide them into the Championship.

"Ronnie has taken Rotherham out of this division before so he knows what's required," said Swailes.

"There have been a lot of new players arriving at Boundary Park and we expect to do a lot better than last season and of course we must be in contention for a promotion spot."
