Plymouth defend approach for Vale pair

Vale say they will report Argyle to the Football Association, claiming that the south coast club made an illegal approach for the pair.

Both players intially refused to play against Bradford on Saturday as they were under the impression that they were being sold, but were named in the starting line-up after talks.

Plymouth made 'derisory' bids, while Vale insist the players were illegally contacted.

But Argyle boss Pulis insists his side have done no wrong in the incident.

He said: "I have spoken to (Martin) Foyle and told him about my interest in them, he told me they would be available at the right price.

"It's now down to the two chairmen to find out what that price is, and if they want to sell. But, as I have said before, I have made a lot of inquiries about players at other clubs"
