QPR fined after China brawl

The incident happened on February 7, when 30 players were involved in the brawl which lead to the game being abandoned.

Rangers assistant Richard Hill was arrested by police, but criminal charges were dropped.

He has been banned from football for three months, while Rangers must pay £20,000 now and the same again at the end of May.

The London side admitted failing to ensure their players refrained from violent behaviour, but claimed they were provoked.

"There was provocation and the emphasis will be on the conduct of the Chinese people," exlained Graham Bean, the former FA compliance officer who lead the defence.

"The video and pictures show best what it was all about and the extraordinary circumstances involved are the basis of QPR's mitigation."
