The R's have opened their season in style by winning three league games - including a 2-0 success over the Iron at Loftus Road - and drawing the fourth.

"We've got seven or eight new players, you don't expect to get the results we've managed to get. Everyone knows you don't win anything in August apart from Manager of the Month," Warnock told Sky Sports News.

"We had a very good pre-season in Cornwall and Italy, we got most of the lads in early and did a lot of hard work. They're a good group of lads, they've loved every minute and we've enjoyed the football."

Sheffield Wednesday's Alan Irvine was the League One manager of the month, with Torquay United's Paul Buckle taking the honours in League Two.

Warnock has also added Tommy Smith to his squad, on loan from Portsmouth. A permanent move was planned but did not go through before the transfer deadline, he is expected to move to Loftus Road full-time in January.

Bristol City have added the England U21 left-winger Danny Rose to their squad on a season-long loan from the Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.
"He's one we feel would enhance the squad in terms of the position he plays and we've been looking for a left-sider for a while now," the City manager Keith Millen told the BBC.
Rose has an ankle injury so will not be part of the Robins side that takes on Scunthorpe at Glanford Park on Saturday.

Cardiff City's Michael Chopra has been told he could return from ankle ligament damage next month - four weeks earlier than expected

Chopra, 26, suffered the injury in the Welsh side's 4-0 win over Doncaster Rovers last month.

Leeds United have signed Amdy Faye until January. The Senegalese midfielder was a free agent after leaving Stoke City in the summer.

Bristol City's Gavin Williams has joined the League One side Yeovil Town on loan.
