Ritchie in Barnsley talks

Ritchie took over as caretaker boss of the Tykes for the last 11 games of the season after Paul Hart quit as manager.

Under his guidance, the Yorkshire club lose just two of their remaining games.

And he was handed the March manager of the month award. He now hopes to be given the job on a full-time basis.
 
He said: "We've just got the lads to express themselves and enjoy football.

"We needed to get their spirits up, we did that and we've reaped the rewards. We just need to push on next season - if I'm here."
