Sheffield United manager may quit

The Blades were beaten 1-0 by Burnley in the Championship play-off final on Monday after a poor showing from the Yorkshire side.

"The rebuilding takes a lot of doing. It might need someone fresh to come in," je told BBC Radio Sheffield.

"I've got to reflect about what I'm going to do and the club's going to do. This is a serious time for the club and myself. I need time to think and I will decide later on."

Scunthorpe could be up against their former player Jermaine Beckford next season, after he turned down a three-year deal to stay at the League One side Leeds United.

The Yorkshire side, beaten by Millwall in the League One play-off semi-finals, have transfer listed the player as a result. It appears likely he will join a Championship side.

Beckford, who spent the latter half of the 2006/07 on loan at Glanford Park, scored 34 goals for Leeds this season.

He was fined £2,500, although £2,000 of that is suspended until the end of next season.
