Slade hopes to extend Brighton stay

The former Scarborough and Yeovil Town boss replaced Micky Adams two months ago when the club seemed certain to be heading towards relegation.

Four wins and a draw have given the Seagulls a good chance of avoiding the drop, but Slade has no contract at the Withdean Stadium beyond the end of this season.

He told the Argus: "I'm sure there'll be a lot of talking going on once we know where we stand after the last game.

"I've enjoyed my time here, whatever the situation is. The fans have been absolutely magnificent from day one and I've enjoyed a very challenging situation.

"Would I like that to continue? Of course I would, but we'll have to wait and see."
