Southend warn Eastwood suitors

Eastwood has spent three seasons at the Shrimpers, but his goals were not enough to prevent relegation from the Championship this season.

But despite a host of admirers, Southend chairman Ron Martin insists the 23-year-old will be lining up for the Essex side in League One next season.

"He isn't for sale and he isn't going anywhere," insisted Martin.

"He will definately be part of the team next season, we are going for promotion next season and the chances of that are far greater with Freddy in the team."

Eastwood looks set to make his international debut for Wales against New Zealand later this month, and has netted 65 times for Southend.

He moved to Southend from Conference South side Grays Athletic in October 2003, turning down a move to Glanford Park in favour of the Shrimpers.
