Former Iron target Eastwood has been linked with a number of clubs after scoring 21 goals for the Shrimpers last season and firing them to play-off glory against Lincoln.

But the ex-West Ham youth player wishes to stay loyal to the club who gave him his big chance in the Football League.

“They are a big club with great history and support and I will be playing there next year,” said Eastwood.

"But it won’t be for Forest, I will be wearing blue not red and I will be with Southend United.

“I keep saying I want to stay and I really mean it. Come the start of pre-season training I am certain I will still be with Southend."
