Swansea back on top

Cheltenham Town 0-0 Oxford United (attendance: 5,319)
The Robins are now unbeaten in six after holding Oxford thanks to saves from goalkeeper Shane Higgs. Town defender Mike Duff was sent off late on, but the point was well earned. Ian Atkins' side are the only team yet to lose a match this season, although they do lose first place in the table to Swansea on goals for.

Doncaster Rovers 0-1 Yeovil Town (attendance: 4,716)
The two sides promoted from the Conference last season met in the league for the first time this evening, and it was the Conference champions who came out on top. Yeovil's Gavin Williams scored the only goal of the contest in the 35th minute, while the home side had Leo Fortune-West sent off for an off-the-ball incident 11 minutes from time. Rovers have now gone six games without a win and are just 3 points above the relegation zone at this early stage of the season.

Kidderminster Harriers 0-2 Scunthorpe United (attendance: 2,162)
Kidderminster have also gone six games without victory, with Scunthorpe the latest team to deny them a win. They did so through two second half goals; captain Cliff Byrne got the first just before the hour mark, before Steve McLean sealed the win 15 minutes from time.

Leyton Orient 1-1 Hull City (attendance: 3,728)
Ben Burgess had headed the visitors in front, but David Hunt levelled on the stroke of half time with a free kick. Orient had the better of the second half exchanges but the Tigers held on for an away point that keeps them in the top 3.

Mansfield Town 5-3 Bury (attendance: 4,145)
Mansfield are one of the league's big hitters having failed to score in a match this season, weighing in with another 5 goals today. Lee Connell had put Bury's noses in front after 21 minutes, but goals from Junior Mendes (30) and two from Wayne Corden (36 & 44) saw the Stags leading 3-1 at half time. Substitute Gareth Seddon hit back in the 58th minute, but Liam Lawrence restored Town's two-goal lead five minutes later. Connell (78) scored again for Bury to give them a lifeline, but Lawrence ended the match with a fifth Mansfield goal.

Northampton Town 2-0 Carlisle United (attendance: 4,156)
Carlisle's mini-revival under caretaker player-manager Paul Simpson was ended at the Sixfields Stadium. After a goalless first half, Martin Smith won a 58th minute penalty and picked himself up to score it. Paul Trollope then got the second from distance with 13 minutes left on the clock.

Rochdale 1-1 Huddersfield Town (attendance: 4,626)
Paul Connor gave Rochdale a goal head start after just 18 seconds, but Jon Worthington put Huddersfield level 23 minutes later. Both sides had further chances but neither were able to find a winner.

Southend United 0-2 Lincoln City (attendance: 2,874)
Lincoln got their first away win of the season against struggling Southend, who sit second from bottom. Marcus Richardson opened the scoring after 10 minutes, but Southend got a chance to equalise 13 minutes from time when Duncan Jupp was brought down in the box. However, Jupp saw his penalty saved by Alan Marriot, and Richard Butler went up the other end and scored from 25 yards out.

Swansea City 3-0 Macclesfield Town (attendance: 6,641)
Swansea return to the top of the table by beating Macclesfield, who have won just once this season. Leon Britton got them on their way after 34 minutes and Richard Duffy headed the second on the stroke of half time. Ryan Robinson then made it 3-0 just after half time, and ensured Swansea's 100% record at the Vetch Field is maintained.

Torquay United 2-1 Bristol Rovers (attendance: 3,691)
Kevin Miller chipped Torquay in front after 31 minutes, and Craig Taylor doubled the lead with a header just before half time. After Rovers survived more pressure from the home side, Kevin Street (62) pulled a goal back, and Torquay had to cling on to their 3 points.

York City 1-1 Darlington (attendance: 3,867)
York ended their three game losing streak by holding Darlington at Bootham Crescent. Liam George put the Minstermen ahead after 16 minutes, but Barry Conlon levelled against his old side in first half stoppage time. Darlington had chances to win the match in the second half, but had to be content with a point after Gary Pearson was given his marching orders.
