Jackett targeted two midfielders and one defender earlier this summer, and
Jenkins insists it could yet happen.
He told PA Sport: "We are committed to making this football club successful, and we are keen to add to the squad.
"But we will only go for players we think fit the bill and we won't rush into making decisions."
