The 20-year-old former England Under-18 international joined Fulham from Newcastle in January 2003 but is yet to appear for their first team.
"Fulham want to get him experience and he has agreed to spend some time with us," explained King.
"He is a good player and he has said he will come in and work hard to prove to us what he can do."
