Onuora has suffered two defeats in his opening two games in the Robins hotseat, but still believes he has alot to offer as a manager.
"That's a question for the future but I've got a lot of affection for Gillingham," said Onuora.
"I'm already looking ahead to going there with Swindon in January. Hopefully I'll still be in a job and can turn up at Priestfield.
"I had my best spell at Gillingham, and I can say without any fear of recrimination that they were my favourite spells."
The 38-year-old replaced Andy King at the County Ground last Monday.
