Taylor-Fletcher surprised at goal hype

The 25-year-old's strike was the 500,000th scored since the Football League was formed.

He will be presented with a trophy to mark the occasion, and has been the subject of media interest.

"It's a bit surreal all this attention, I must admit," he told PA Sport.

"My phone's not stopped ringing and I'm doing all sorts of interviews. I can't believe all the hype surrounding it.

"I had no idea someone was going to score the 500,000th goal on Tuesday and had no idea afterwards until I looked at my phone and saw all my messages.

"But it wasn't a bad goal a 25-yard tap-in, so at least it was worthy of marking the occasion."
