Akpo Sodje's goal earned Vale a 1-0 win at Oldham, keeping them top on goal difference following their 3-0 win over Leyton Orient on Saturday. 

Nottingham Forest kept up their good season start with a 2-0 win at Blackpool, thanks to goals from Jack Lester and Grant Holt.

Cheltenham recorded a 1-0 win over Tranmere, with Kayode Odejayi hitting a stunning striker after eight minutes, while Jake Robinson saw Brighton beat Gillingham.

Chris Moore scored the only goal of the game as Brentford ran out victors at Northampton.
