Westwood leaves Hartlepool for Walsall

Westwood was instrumental in the Pools' rise to the play-offs last season and joins Merson's side on July 1.

Westwood hails from Dudley in the Midlands and began his career as a trainee with Wolves before a free transfer to Reading in 1998.

The player joined Hartlepool in 1999, and has made 300 appearances for the club.
