The Wales international came through the youth ranks at Molineux and has established himself as the current first choice following an injury to regular number one Matt Murray.

Hennessey, who kept a Football League record nine consecutive clean sheets while on loan at Stockport County last year, has started all three of Wolves' Championship games this season.

"I'm delighted that he has agreed a new deal," manager Mick McCarthy said.

"When Matt Murray got injured there was never any doubt in my mind that Wayne would come in and do a good job."
