The 32-year-old played in four matches for the Potters during his month at the Britannia Stadium, but is pleased to be returning to a club where he has made almost 150 appearances.

He was scheduled to stay with Tony Pulis' side until November 10, but said: "The gaffer (Mick McCarthy) called me on Wednesday morning and said he wanted me to come back.

"I'm pleased to be coming although I've enjoyed my time at Stoke. It's given me the chance to be playing at first-team level and means I won't be coming back to Wolves rusty.

"It's my club, I've been here for five years and I'll be pleased to come back and do what I can to help the team."
