York brawl referee charged

Viduka clashed with York's Tom Jordan, and referee Alan Kaye reccomended that the Australian international was subbed to avoid him sending him off.

His decision was praised by both managers and supporters, but the FA have reprimanded Kaye as they feel he should have been red-carded and handed a suspension.

An FA spokesman said: "Mr Kaye has been charged by the FA for less than proficiently applying the laws of the game.

"Special instructions were issued to officials about certain incidents and obviously the refereeing department of the FA feel these have not been followed."
