"I spent two-and-a-half hours with him yesterday afternoon, I showed him around the ground and around the dressing room and I am optimistic," said Grecians manager John Cornforth.

"He wants to better himself and I believe that by coming and playing for me he could do that. I am optimistic, but you never know in football."

Ginge has put pen to paper on a two year deal with the Grecians.

"The fact that I used to play with John at Scunthorpe was a plus, once he told me the way he wants his team to play and the style he wants us to play, was a major factor in me making the move to the Westcountry," said Ginge today.

John Cornforth, who spent a brief period at Glanny Park as a player in the 1999-2000 season was said to be delighted at the conclusion of the deal.

The capture of Sheldon is his first signing since taking charge of the club from Noel Blake who was sakced after our 4-0 victory down at St James Park.
