The young keeper initially came to Glanford Park on loan from Premiership outfit Middlesbrough, and later made the deal full-time after the Iron took over his contract.

His friendship with Richard Kell, who played alongisde him in Middlesbrough's youth team, was said to have had a large part in luring him to North Lincolnshire.

Despite a number of consistent performances for the reserves however he was not offered a new contract here this summer, and all at Iron-Bru.net wish him all the best over in the Emerald Isle.

If he does feature for the Shels in the Champions League this coming season he will not be the first former Iron to compete in the competition, Tim Clarke kept goal for Barry Town as they knockedd FC Shamkir of Azerbajan out of the competition setting up a dream tie with Porto - though they would lose the first leg 8-0 ruining any fairytale.
