Ipoua sacked by Livingston

Despite reaching the final of the CIS Cup and the fourth round of the Scottish FA Cup, Livingstone have cancelled the contracts of the players due to cash-flow problems.

Along with Ipoua, Juan Jose Camacho, Quino, Tom English, Paul McLaughlin and Cherif Toure-Maman have all been axed by the administrators currently in charge of the club.

Several more players have until Friday to accept a wage cut, or find themselves also on the way out of the City Stadium.

Club captain Stuart Lovell admits that it was hard for the dressing room to take.

He said: "We knew we would lose players, that was inevitable, but it never quite makes you ready to come to terms with that.

"To see grown men cry is a hard thing to take and there was some surprises as well in the decision that were made.

"I think some of the foreigners have been surprised by the law. I know a few of them did not think it was legal for someone to be able to sack you at short notice with no prospect of any pay."
