John Schofield, a former Iron coach, has found himself in charge of the Cheltenham Town first team following the suspension of Martin Allen.

The League Two club have suspended Allen as they look into claims he racially abused a bouncer after being refused entry to a nightclub.

Schofield spent time on the backroom staff at Glanford Park during the 2007/08 season having been sacked as Lincoln City manager.

He joined Cheltenham as assistant to Allen last season, signing a two-year contract extension in the summer.
