The former Scunthorpe striker Billy Sharp has been tipped to form a strong striking partnership with Waide Fairhurst at Doncaster Rovers.
Sharp, on loan from Sheffield United, and Fairhurst played together for the first time in the 3-1 loss to West Bromwich Albion. Fairhhurst scored in the match.With James Hayter, James Coppinger and Paul Heffernan injured the Doncaster manager Sean O'Driscoll has little choice but to keep faith in the pair.
"I thought that they interacted well with the rest of the team as well as with each other at West Brom," he told the Sheffield Star.
"There are things to work on as a partnership, but it was a good beginning."
