Brigg Town 1 - 5 Scunthorpe United

Steve Torpey put United ahead early on, slotting home after being put through one on one with the Zebra's keeper.

The Iron doubled the lead when the ball fell to midfield man Wayne Graves who finished with confidence, blasting the ball into the top corner of the net leaving the keeper with no chance.

At half time, Nathan Stanton was replaced by Richard Kell who continues to fight his way back from a broken leg and earn himself a new contract at Glanford Park. Kell took up the central midfield spot while Graves moved to right back.

The only controversial moment of the match happened early on in the second half, Torpey was unhappy with the challenge of the Zebra's right back and told him so in no uncertain terms along with United's travelling fans who were next to the incident.

The Zebra's player was also unhappy and plenty of pushing and shoving ensued. Both players were booked for their part in the incident and Brigg Gaffer Raz Clayton soon subbed his player off.

New signing Kevin Sharp got his second run out in two day's replacing Peter Beagrie after his part in United's 6-0 drubbing of Barton Town last night.

Soon afterwards Matt Sparrow, scoring against his home town club, made it three nil after Torpey's header had been blocked by a Brigg defender.

The Iron went on to make it four through sub Richard Kell, much to the delight of his team mates and the Iron fans in attendance before Steve Torpey further compunded the Zebra's misery less than a minute later.

Brigg did get a consolation with the last kick of the ball though when Iron keeper Tommy Evans, faced with a what appeared to be a simple clearance kicked the ball against the near by Brigg attacker and the ball bounced off his torso and into the net.
