Headed over
Today's game was a poor game played on a poor pitch, but Iron manager Brian Laws was pleased enough with his team's point from the match.

It is no coincidence that most of Bury's best results in the second half of the season have been achieved away from home, one look at their `pitch` makes it perfectly clear why.

United failed to carve out many worthwhile chances, and the best they managed was when defender Greg Strong headed over in the second half.

Teenage striker Paul Hayes also saw his acrobatic effort turned over the bar by a Bury defender.

Bury enjoyed more of the possession and created the few scoring opportunities that came along.

There were none better than the chance that fell to Colin Cramb after 26 minutes.

Clean through with only the Scunthorpe keeper to beat, Cramb only succeeded in finding the legs of Tom Evans.

The win moves both sides up a place in the league table, and could face each other again in the end of season playoffs.
