Away Days: Gay Meadow

How many fans were there and what did you think of the ground?

It was shocking to say the least, it will suit the Conference down to the ground! I'd say there were about 450-500 Scunny fans there.

And what was the atmosphere like among them?

We were good at the start, in full voice but silenced a bit as they got on top of the game. But we were in full voice again for second half once we got a foothold on the game.

What about the Shrews fans, did you hear much from them and were our fans respectful of their relegation?

There was some gentle banter towards them but nothing that I would call disrespectful. They were loud in first half when on top but silent in the second when we were on top.

What did you think to Paul Dalglish's performance and two goals?

I was impressed again, have only seen him play twice myself - against Hartlepool and here - and I can't see what peoples problem with him is. He was always wanting the ball and willing to run at the defence. It was a nice turn and finish for the first goal and the keeper should have stopped it but full credit to him for trying his luck from 35 yards.

And Steve Torpey after he came on?

It shows we missed him more than we thought. He won everything in the air, chased balls down and their defenders didn't know how to handle him. We looked more dangerous with him on.

Finally then, how do you think we will do against Lincoln in the play-offs?

I can't see us having any problems against a team of non-leaguers and hoofers who can't score to save their lifes. 2-0 at theirs and 2-1 at ours.
